Batty's Bath - Make Up Review

Hi all,

I know the writing on this blog has been pretty scarce recently, I apologise! I have been working full time and juggling that with single motherhood plus trying to have a relationship and a social life... so it can be a bit tricky to keep up with everything sometimes!

Enough about me... onto what we're actually here for... the make up!

The lovely Batty's Bath contacted me to see if I would like to try anything from their beautiful range. I looked through their website and was blown away by the selection, ingredients quality and prices.

I was a bit overwhelmed and not sure what to choose but I settled on make up and asked for a sample of their concealer and foundation, I asked them to send me the shades they thought best.

I was sent the concealer in Warm Sand and the foundation in Almond.

Concealer - $15.00 CAD
(cruelty free, gluten free)

I was really impressed with the ingredients in this - as clean as a whistle!

The texture is perfect as well - it goes on to provide very full coverage but doesn't feel heavy. Pretty ideal for a concealer.

The packaging is cute but possibly not the most practical (pot, nail... eww).

Overall, I like the concealer and will continue to use it.

Foundation - $34.00 CAD
(cruelty free, vegan, gluten free)

I didn't fall in love with this - I don't think the texture is quite right for me and my skin. It was quite hard work to apply and didn't wear very well throughout the day.

I found that it clung to dry patches that I didn't even know were there. It also looked streaky no matter which method of application I used.

It gave great coverage and did stay put all day so maybe if you have a different skin type to me it might work well for you?

Again, the packaging is a bit of a concern for me - even more so as it is a foundation and you would get through this a lot quicker. The glass is lovely and the label is pretty but I'm not sure the depth of the pot is quite right for this type of product.

The ingredients are spotless, it's an impressive read so I hope someone else can use it and enjoy it as it's clearly a quality product, just not suited to me.

Has anyone else tried it and had a better experience?

The website is FULL of really useful information for colour matching, ingredient properties, how-to guides for application, etc. You can see the passion behind the products which is really great.

If you'd find it useful you can watch me using the products in this video here.

Although the foundation wasn't my favourite I do like the concealer and I'd strongly recommend checking out their site, so many fantastic products on there to choose from!
