I have to admit—I love Valentine’s Day and the kitschy heart shaped boxes of chocolates, bouquets of flowers and sweet cards that are a part of it. It was probably my favorite holiday as a kid because you never knew who was going to confess a crush or become a secret admirer of you or your friends. Our class would decorate shoeboxes with all the hearts, cupids and lace we could muster and then everyone would deposit Valentine’s cards into the shoeboxes during the class party.
